Briancon Town
Destroyed by fire in the 1620s and damged in the early 1700s, Briancon
now retains a number of buildings from Vauban's time. Curiously,
Vauban had a church built within a bastion.

The church was built inside one of the bastions, making it the subject of much speculation as to why.
