Task Force Smith Monuments
This is the original monument.
This is the most recent monument, erected in 1982. It is one of the best statues I have ever seen. The troops face three directions just as they did in the battle.
As good of a statue as it is, it has a couple of inaccuracies. A bazooka larger than those used in the battle is shown, and one of the men depicted is black. The Army was segregated at the time and was integrated during the war.
